The Nintendo Switch OLED model is $50 off right now

Autumn has officially arrived, and it’s time to curl up on the couch with a cup of tea and a portable game console. If you’re looking to buy a new one or haven’t bought one yet, check out the Nintendo Switch OLED. The device is on sale right now for $300, down from $350 – a 14 percent discount. The discount is available on Woot for five days or while stocks last. Woot is owned by Amazon, so Prime members get free standard shipping (though Amazon’s return policy doesn’t apply).

The Nintendo Switch OLED arrived in 2021 as a minor upgrade to the original 2017 model. We gave it 89 points in our review, with highlights such as its 7-inch OLED screen, which has grown from 6.2 inches. It also boasts better battery life, and its greater efficiency extends its life to around seven hours instead of four to five hours. Plus, its stand makes it easy to use tabletop mode.

The biggest caveat here is that the Nintendo Switch 2 should – insist on a new one – come soon. The second-generation console has been rumored for years, but many signs point to it being announced before the end of the month. Of course, this is all speculation, so it’s your choice whether to jump on the bandwagon or wait and see what Nintendo does. Keep in mind that The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be released later this week.

While the tradition of including an S Pen in a phone continues (it’s now essentially the long-retired Galaxy Note), Air Commands – which bridged the gap between the two – have bitten the dust. Samsung told Engadget in a briefing that less than one percent of S Pen-toting customers used the feature. And of those that did, most used it as a camera shutter, which can easily be replicated in other ways. Samsung says removing it saved some weight and increased the S Pen’s durability.

Engadget’s Sam Rutherford got an early experience with the Galaxy S25 Ultra and said it “feels like a good phone” and called Samsung’s AI suite “much more consistent and easy to use,” but also felt the company “could have done more for its most expensive non-folding phone.”
